Nagomi means "harmony" in Japanese. Harmony Pastel Art is a healing pastel finger-painting art founded by Hosoya Norikatsu in Japan in 2003. He hopes to promote an art form that can be painted by everyone from children to old folks, regardless of their artistic backgrounds, and that is simple and warm, evoking harmony and beauty in everyone's heart. The founder of Harmony Pastel, Hosoya Norikatsu, established the Japan Association for Harmony Pastel in 2002 in order to take care of his sick wife and the various changes and pressures of society in Japan at that time. We hope that the creation of pastel paintings with the theme of promoting a harmonious and healthy social environment will awaken the artistic creativity of every person. Through each piece of artwork, each person is able to share and encourage each other.

What is Pastel Nagomi Art (PNA)?

• It is a form of Japanese art healing founded in 2003 by Hosaya Norikatsu from Japan, in the same year, he also established JPHAA (JAPAN PASTEL NAGOMI ART ASSOCIATION) promoting Pastel Nagomi Art too.
• The logo above with kanji character "和" (Nagomi) carries the meaning of harmony, calm and peace.
• The mission of PNA is to achieve a society and community that is healthy, harmonious and balanced. 
• This art with just using pastels and fingers to create gentle, transparent, warm and heart-touching art through simple yet unique ways of painting techniques.

• A freestyle drawing by using our fingers to apply the pastel powders on the paper directly
• A calm and relaxing art - The painting process helps to relax and calm our mind
• Simple but beautiful – anyone can create a unique art piece
• No right or wrong or any drawing rules - we can draw literally ANYTHING on the paper
